You could make a cloak around the two posts at the top.
If one were to create a padded headboard, you can measure the distance between the two positions. Buy a piece of wood in the woodshop room (or shop for home), feed and hang on the wall. You can to the W OOD chopped 1 / 2 inches - 2 inches shorter than the space between the poles depends on the thickness of the foam is used around the board line.
Not sure how it would look elegant, but you could.
